The story behind AURA Memorial
The origin
In 2020, I had the honour of crafting the funeral urn of my paternal grandfather. It was while making an object so precious and meaningful that the smoke-firing process revealed itself to me. Since that moment, I create pieces that accompany significant passages and speak of a living memory. Through my work with fire, I seek to bring the sacred to the heart of our lives, to reconnect with the deeper dimensions of human existence and to make them accessible and visible, so that each person may find the support they are seeking.
Bio
Andréanne H. Perron holds a bachelor's degree in visual arts from Université Laval and a four-year technical training in ceramics at the Maison des métiers d'art de Québec.
She works with the smoke-firing technique, striving to reveal the hidden aspects tied to sacred passages and transformations, and to offer through her objects a presence that speaks of a living memory.
The collections of urns, reliquaries, and commemorative objects are thoughtfully crafted with care, respect, and intention. No two pieces are ever identical — each bears witness to its unique position within the fire. They carry the trace of breath, earth, and the alchemical encounter that renews itself each time.
